Save the Children

Over £300 raised for Save the Children!

Last Christmas, MPG partnered with Contingent Works for the 2021 Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for Save the Children. The MPG team came together in their favourite Christmas Jumpers to host a festive bake sale on Thursday 9th December to reach our fundraiser goal. Save the Children have been running Christmas Jumper Day since 2012 and every pound we have raised will help kids in the UK & around the world get the basics they need to laugh, play & see the magic all around them again!

MPG's team fundraiser

Ahead of COP26, the UN’s climate change conference held in Glasgow on 31 Oct – 12 Nov, the MPG team fundraised for Friends of the Earth in support of their fight against climate change. The team walked/jogged/ran/cycled the distance from our office in Bromley to the COP26 conference in Glasgow and back (852 miles!). We ended the fundraiser with a bake sale in our office to raise last minute donations and treat ourselves after reaching our goal!

Friends of the Earth Bromley

Friends of the Earth have spent over 40 years protecting the planet. They need our help as they rely on public support to continue their work. They have won new laws to protect our water, wildlife, landscapes, climate and health. But to face the challenges ahead, there needs to be a more positive relationship between people and the environment. Together, with Friends of the Earth, our voice is louder, our actions more significant, our impact greater. Together, we are determined to change the world for good, for everyone.

Sustainability

At MPG, looking after our planet is as important to us as looking after our team members and our customers. Looking after our environment is an ongoing effort across the team, including the following initiatives:

  • Environmentally responsible workspaces: we aim to use working spaces where facility owners go above and beyond legal and regulatory requirements. Our current shared workspace takes ‘reuse and recycle’ to new levels, for example in the refit, original plasterboards have been reused to create new work areas; and traditional soundproofing materials are made of recycled plastic bottles.
  • Low emission commuting: with a distributed workforce, we eliminate unnecessary journeys for work. We use online meetings where possible for internal collaboration, as well as for meetings and workshops with clients, prospective clients and our wider network. When we do come together for in-person working, we encourage and enable greener ways to get around, such as public transport, walking and cycling.
  • Conversation and education on green issues: we actively encourage discussion and debate on topics around sustainability, where all team members share their ideas around the small and big things we can do every day in how we work and how we live our lives for positive impact.

These are some of the ways in which we aim to be good citizens of our precious planet earth. We have more to learn and more to do here – with responsible environmentalism always at the top of our CSR team’s agenda.
